I really love your new theme on Multiply! So is this a fairy that you are stitching?
Yep - I'm stitching a fairy - normally I avoid designs with people or people-like things, but this one just really, really grabbed me - and it's Halloween themed. I'll put the floss toss in here over the weekend, tehn the first update probably on Monday - when I hope to be about 1/2 done :)
I cqan not wait to see how it turns out! :-)
Karen, I really like your new page theme - very nice!
Wow, you really went to town on her! I still have the material laid out, but no actualy x's in it yet. So far have you subbed out any colors other than the bs'ing???
Another great project!! Frankly, I don't know how you manage it all!! Cheers
She's beautiful, congrats!
Karen, she's a beauty...love the bead detail at the neckline and the snooty expression has worked out so well.
Wow, Karen! She looks fabulous!!! I do love the fabric you are stitching her on. You've made some really excellent progress!!!!!
Every week you astound me with your progress! this is gorgeous *and* you got some of the beading done too!
She looks awesome Karen, and ummm WELCOME TO FAIRY LAND!
Looks great! It's one fairy that appeals to me, must be the owl on the arm!
Lovely start, Karen! I just love this pattern. Don't know why since I haven't been tempted with the others in the series but this one is just wonderful!
And ummmmmm, I started mine last night. I have a nice brown blob now.
I like this one. You are making great progress so far. Your needles must be smoking with all the stitching that you accomplish.
Looks great so far Karen. Keep up the good work!!
She's beautiful Karen - I love your fabric!
I realllllly want to do this piece where do I find the pattern??? Please!!!!!
Frishawn, this is in the September issue of Cross Stitch & Needlework magazine - most stores are out of it, but you should be able to get it online still - from them or Amazon, I bet. That pillow came out of there, too :) Best magazine, single issue, I've ever seen :)
Pretty! Did you start with a full spool of the Garnet? (Just wondering if I should order two off the bat)
Yeah, brand new - but you're supposed to use 2 strands, which I thought was a lot, but then without, it looks too light. I've never used up an entire spool of Kreinik anything before...
Excellent progress Karen! This looks wonderful!
OK - colour me stupid - but where is the braid used?
Trick or Treat is spelled out entirely in braid - it's a Vintage color, so not as sparkly as that blue used in her headband and the really ligth blue int eh moon (previous picture). You have to turn it this way & that to get the tiniest glints - but it really is a neat effect in person :)
I love this fairy on that fabric!!!
Well, if I'm the only one who runs out of that Garnet, then I either did something wrong, or I got a short spool. Nancy, are you using 2 strands on the purple you subbed for the letters? I haven't looked to see if the Vintage colors come in shorter lengths than a non-vintage color...?
I am using the Petite Treasure braid and couldn't use 2 ply of it if I tried!
My purple braid is more sparklie than your garnet. But I do like the look of it when I zoom in on it!
Looks great! Stinks that you had to order a lone skein. Shipping prices drive me nuts. I think you should have to pay for actualy shipping prices not some random amount based on purchase price.
Karen, she's looking wonderful!
| {Mel checks the close up of the picture again} Oh I see now .....
Thanks - and I'll await your response to Paula :) I now have this mag winging its way to me so I might have to join in the madness in a little while .... maybe over Christmas - just to throw out the marketing gurus :) I've decided I'm not starting mine until after the new PTP fabrics come out in February.. so talk about really throwing off the Marketing gurus.. Halloween at Valentines? lol |
Actually, that would be about the only kind of Valentine Fairy I'd stitch, too - no pinks :) My god, what am I saying??? It almost sounded like I'd stitch another fairy... oh, what have I become?
| I love this one too but have to wait until February as well. I KNOW it will be worth the wait :)
|
twana wrote on Oct 8, '08 This looks so much nicer on the fabric you chose. Hope the braid gets there quickly!
Wow... It's very beautiful... :-)
Wow, this is looking good. I hope you get your braid in time to finish it for Halloween!!
Very pretty! Love the fabric you chose for her.
This one is sooooooo cute!! Good luck getting finished before Halloween!!
She is lovely! You've made really wonderful progress!!
she's so pretty..love your fabric choice.
She's really looking good, Karen!
Now that the dress is done, the rest goes pretty fast! Looks great! Wish there was 2 of the frame I found, I would have gotten it for you. It was all alone and NO others that looked like it, it was probably a fluke I found it.
She's still looking soooo lovely !!!!!
Love it! Looks better each time.
She is geting close! Well done!
just a little more pumpkin and the cobwebs!! Don't pressure yourself, Halloween comes around every year, last I knew.
I also want to look for a teeny tiny spider charm while I'm at Hobby Lobby - that complete web on the pumpkin needs a resident weaver :)
You are so close to being done.. She's looking good.
Every picture just looks better and better!
She's looking great! And she's definitely getting close to a finish!
Beautiful stitching Karen! This looks fantastic!!
She is looking totally fabulous and I adore the fabric - such a great choice !!!!
Still wish I'd found a tiny spider charm to add to the webs....
Your project looks great! I love the beads on it and the way you took that last picture. Really neat :-)
Beautiful finish, Karen! I have never seen a spider charm, but you are right, it would go perfect :)
Ooooh nice perspective - brings out the sparkle in the metallics too!
| That really does show off the sparklies.
BTW, somewhere like Fire Mountain or an ebay seller is bound to have a spider charm! |
Ok, .... stop enabling WHERE to get one........there is a birthday coming up......geez, it's really hard to keep things secret in this group! I give up.
| BTW, the barely-mentioned spider charm arrived today - thank you very much, he's so cute!! Well, for a spider, that is :) I have already gotten him sewn on - see the last 2 pictures I added!!
Now, to get her in her frame! Sounds like a weekend job to me.... |
That is so cool! That charm is fantastic!
I haven't put mine on yet. Before I saw where you put yours, I was thinking about the larger web on the left. Now I'll need to play with it. Glad you liked it! I am sure the spider wasn't a surprise!!
That spider adds just the right touch! It looks great on there, as much as I don't like spiders. ;)
Gret charm, and I think you got the positioning just right...
AAAAhhhh - beauty Karen! Love the finished product. Great job. And belated 'happy birthday' wishes to you!!!! Cheers
Looks fabulous all framed up!! Good job Karen!!!!
And belated 'happy birthday' wishes to you!!!! Cheers
That looks just as good as mine!!! I think our frames are very similar. Congrats on getting it *finished*!!
She's beautiful !!! I like what you write on top ;-) So many people asks for free charts ...
